Reading Quiz
Answer the following questions as succinctly as possible in your own words 10 mins: Cut & paste into your blog and start answers / 10 mins: Open discussion
1. Provide an example of a situation where you have to have trust – in the same vein as the author in his swimming lesson example. What made you trust in this situation and how did you feel?
When flying on an airplane I have to have trust that the airplane is safe. That security is secure, that the pilot knows what he is doing and is healthy, that the right safety checks have been in place such as weather and other conditions. Other people in the class gave examples of activity's such as rock climbing, sky diving, etc.
2. Where in our exhibition do we need to instill trust? Give examples. How are we going to achieve this?
We need to make sure everyone is welcomed and there needs are met. For example, water, food, directions to toilet facilities, etc. They need to feel comfortable, that there in a safe and comfortable environment. For example clear walkways, open exhibition for room to move around, appropriate seating, etc.
3. What strategies are used to instill trust? Examples? Where do we need to employ this in Ten Squared? How are we going to do this?
Question two is very similar to this question. Making the public feel comfortable with appropriate and clear housekeeping, security, safe environment for example clear walkways, etc.
4. If you could “undo” any aspect of the preparation for the exhibition to-date, what would you “undo”? With this in mind, what would would you change now in your preparation strategy to overcome having to “undo” anything?
Undo: I would undo my organisational skills. I may be further in my ideas by now. However I am confident with where I am now.
In a group situation I dont always give it my best, as I am not a person that has leadership as a trait. So I tend to follow and fall behind. I would like to contribute a bit more and help out when and where I can.
Strategy: I have only just started really putting an effort into completing my blogs and its great! Putting in the extra effort helps me to be more on task and excited about what im doing.
To contribute more effectively in a group situation I can be more verbal and communicate my ideas and opinions instead of holding them back
5. Homework: How are you using the laws in relation to your contribution to The Ten Squared exhibition? Provide a short explanation and example for each of the laws so far.
1 Reduce
2 Organise
Making sure I know due dates, being organised with homework and blog entries. Making sure I have everything when I come to class, laptop, power cord, sketch book, pencils, etc. This makes sure I get the most out of each class without getting behind.
3 Time
I am trying to save time by not getting too caught up on details, by moving onto the next thing and not paying more attention to some thing other than others and leaving things to the last minute.

4 Learn
4 Learn
I have learned that organisation is the key to getting things done effectively and efficiently.
5 Differences
There is a difference between a good exhibition and a bad one. The good one has planning, effort and organisation put into it and the other has little of these.
6 Context
I want the exhibition to adopt the “comfortably lost” principle because we want people to feel comfortably lost in our work.
7 Emotion
I would like to encooperate emotion into the exhibition so the audience feels things and therefore interacts and can relate. If it is non relatable and there is no emotional connection the audience can get very easily bored or distracted.
8 Trust
We have to trust that everyone will put there fair share into their assigned jobs to ensure the exhibition runs smoothly and to plan.
