If a clock is in front of you and your standing around and the Que isn't moving it can be frustrating. To make waiting more tolerable there can be TV's for entertainment, seats for comfort, music for atmosphere, interactive technology, magazines, etc.

6. What part of your design/multimedia process do you need to improve at, in terms
of saving time?
In design, you can save time by creating ordered folders to navigate around images, backgrounds, texts, projects, etc. I need to improve on saving time in being efficient at homework. I find myself paying attention to detail or wondering off into irrelevant sites such as the dreaded Facebook...
Branding
After the quiz, we then went onto branding. We did an exercise were we had to see how many well known brands we could recognise. I guessed about 60% correct.
Another important factor of branding is the 6 P's as follows;
- Positioning
- Packaging
- Promotion
- Persistence
- Persuasion
- Performance

Youtube Commentary
This video is a great little animation of how branding came about and how it took over our society. Its a great little video that is well done and really describes the process in a fun and effective way. Brands are something I have always known growing up. But this video helped me understand how it all came about and how they made it boom.
After we looked at branding, we then went onto designing a headline for our upcoming exhibition. We looked at the previous years headline and discussed a bit about it. Below is a picture of the headline used in 2010;

EXERCISE: Part 2 – 10 mins
Develop 3 words or phrases for a NEW logo for this year’s exhibition
Challenge conventional thought patterns - Think crazy – outside the tetrahedron
This year’s theme: NT CENTENARY
Here are some ideas that the class came up with;
- Making Cents
- Centimentality
- TenTenary
- Centsation
- Centum Momentum
For the slogan I brainstormed a few possible ideas;
-100 years just the beginning!
-Territory living
- going strong!
For this exercise I decided to create a logo that says 100 years but communicates the territory through the graphic. Here is what I came up with and the process;
In my design I wanted to in cooperate the word 100 years and the well known symbol for the NT. In concept 1 it looks more like "10 years" which I was a bit bummed about. I then decided to create something different and came up with the design in concept 2. At first it was a maroon colour which reminded me to much of the "Territories own Paul's iced coffee." I'm not to sure about the green though either...
In concept it looked a bit clearer but still looked like "10 years."
I like the final concept because its clean and readable. It communicates the idea in a simple and relevant way. :)
